Watching a Train Wreck
All of us have at some point been awed and sickened by the drama in celebrity life. I typically wouldn’t waste my blog time here talking about this, but I read a book this weekend while taking a mini-road trip with my little family. Written by Britney’s mom, this book is not a tell all or anything of the sort but it gives HER point of view of everything that has happened from her childhood to her marriage to an alcoholic to her kids’ different dramas. I remember watching TV when Britney was holding her youngest child in her bathroom then was carted off by paramedics to the psych ward at the hospital and hearing how she was admitted again shortly after. I remember feeling so sad for this lost girl, not far from my own age with two little babies. But as i read the sickening account from a mothers perspective in this book, my heart broke all over again and nearly brought me to tears. I can’t imagine, as a mother, having to watch a train wreck that involved my child, my very heart and soul.
I’m sure there are those who will read this book and continue to criticize, or perhaps roll their eyes. For me, it doesn’t change my life, it doesn’t alter any of my reality. But it is so very sad, and it did make me for a second in time, reach out with a prayer in my heart for a young lady and her family, who I will never meet or know.
God Bless You
Ashley
